Aby Ruiz

Sin pena ni gloria (It Is What It Is) is a mid-career retrospective exhibition encompassing paintings, drawings, and installations from 2005 until 2023. An exhibition organized by themes rather than in chronological order explores the different periods and the predominant themes of Aby Ruiz, one of Puerto Rico's most acclaimed artists.

The online Viewing Room "Aby Ruíz Recent Works" features five new works by artist Aby Ruíz. These pieces continue Ruíz's exploration of human condition where feelings of anguish and solitude prevail. Polyptychs, so characteristic in the work of Ruíz, are the main format of these works where the viewer, through a dynamic view of the multiple single scenes, creates his/her own narrative.
